SUMMARY:Lunch & Learn - Managing the Complexities of Sick Pay Ordinance
DESCRIPTION:On February 7\, 2019\, the Village Trustees voted to opt back into the Cook County Sick Leave Ordinance\, effective July 1\, 2019.  The Ordinance will apply to all Glenview businesses that employ at least one covered employee.  Also\, on February 19\, 2019\, Illinois passed a law raising the minimum wage in Illinois and making other important changes to Illinois's minimum wage law.  To help its members prepare for the July 1\, 2019 effective date for the Cook County Sick Leave Ordinance and also the changes to the Illinois minimum wage law\, the Chamber is hosting a second lunch and learn presentation on the topic on March 28\, 2019.  If you were unable to attend the first presentation on this topic in February\, this is an opportunity to hear Matthew Brown and Jody Kahn Mason from Jackson Lewis P.C. discuss the requirements of these laws and how your businesses can best prepare to comply with them.  Lunch will be provided.
