SUMMARY:Win With The Bear Final Drawing
DESCRIPTION:The Bear is Back\, and Everyone Wins\n\nIt's time to Win with The Bear.\n\nLast year more than 3\,800 neighbors and friends ventured into Glenview stores and organizations and took a chance to Win with The Bear and brought home more than 70 prizes for free. No purchase required. (Just as a comparison\, Illinois' daily lotto ticket costs $1 and your chances of winning are one in 1\,221\,759). Just saying.\n\nThis year promises to be even better. When you enter a drawing at any one or all of the 70 locations\, you'll receive a form for the grand prize drawing. The program began June 1 and runs until July 15 with the final grand prize drawing of a mega Abt gift certificate\, worth $400\, from event sponsor Glenview Bank and Trust. Among the prizes: a diamond necklace\, pearl stud earrings\, a Galway crystal beer mug\, free dog grooming\, and gift certificates galore. Click Here for complete list of participating businesses. Start shopping local Now.\n\nThe size and scope of the contest is fun and full of surprises\, according to Betsy Baer\, executive director of the chamber. "You'll discover every type of business and organization Glenview has to offer. The range is big\, and it's good for everyone involved." One reason The Bear is such a boon: "When you shop local\, 1.75 percent of your purchase price goes to support Glenview's public services. That's why we say\, 'When you shop local\, your whole hometown wins.'"\n\nCurious about The Bear? "He's been around since 1917\," Ms. Baer explained\, referring to the statue that stands at the entrance of Jackman Park Ms. Baer added that the similarity between Glenview's folk symbol and her last name is purely coincidental.
