Proper destruction of confidential information is an important step in preventing identity theft, the fastest growing crime today. In addition to the shredding days, the bank has taken several steps to keep their customers and the general public informed of current fraud scams and assist customers who are targets of identity theft. A Fraud Information Center at www.gsb.com is regularly updated and available to everyone. GSB personal checking account customers are covered by Identity Theft 911™ which provides identity resolution service should a customer, or resident family member, become a victim of identity theft. This free service provides many functions including a personal advocate who works with them from start to finish restoring their identity. Information about optional Identity Monitoring programs is available at www.GSB.com/IDWatch.
