Glenview Civic Awards
Do you know of a citizen or and public employee in Glenview who went above and beyond in 2014 to make Glenview a better place?
Nominations for the 48th annual Glenview Civic Awards are being accepted in these categories:
- Citizen of the Year -- must live or work in Glenview
- Youth of the Year -- must be a Glenview resident in high school
- Public Safety Award -- must be a Village police officer, firefighter/paramedic or telecommunicator
- Public Service Award -- must have given direct support to public authorities
Nominations and a detailed letter outlining the nominee's qualifications are due by 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 10, to: Sandie Elliott, Glenview Police Department, 2500 East Lake Avenue, Glenview, IL 60026.
The Glenview Civic Awards were created 47 years ago to recognize and pay tribute to citizens in Glenview who have "made a difference" by performing community service.
The civic event is sponsored by the Glenview Chamber of Commerce and these service clubs: American Legion Post 166, Glenview Women of Today, Kiwanis Club of Glenview/Northbrook, Lions, Navy League-Glenview Council, Optimist, Rotary-Luncheon and Rotary-Sunrise. Each year, a member of each organization is able to participate in a selection committee that reviews nominations and selects award recipients.
