I Love Glenview Photo Contest
The Glenview Chamber of Commerce Community Photo Contest invites all amateur photographers to help us answer that question with a compelling image. It could be a favorite street corner, a joyful event, a beautiful winter scene—whatever makes you love our hometown.
Each photo submitted has the chance to be used in various Chamber publications, as well as the Chamber website. If you were going to welcome visitors to town, what would you tell them about? The small-town, Midwestern neighborliness? The way everyone shows up for Summer Fest? And what would you show them? The gazebo in Jackson Park? The train stop at dawn? Grab your camera and become a guide in your hometown AND win!
Top prize: $100
Contest Rules
1. To enter the contest, you must live or work in Glenview, and if you’re under 18 years of age, you should have a parent’s signature on the entry form.
2. Photos must be taken in Glenview.
3. Within reason, photos must not feature the intellectual property of others (i.e. a registered trademark). Photos must be in good taste, and they should be recent—taken after January 1, 2012.
4. Entries must be received no later than midnight, May 2, 2014 to be eligible for use in the 2014 Glenview Community Directory.
5. Each contestant may submit up to two pictures. Photos can be submitted by email to glenviewchamber@gmail.com. Include one image per email, along with the entry form. Alternatively, the image can be saved on a CD and mailed to the Chamber office at 2222 Chestnut Avenue, Glenview, IL 60026. Images should be titled, with your last name first, for example: ReillyPrettyParks.jpeg. Be sure to note on the form that people whose likenesses appear in your photo have agreed to this use, and if they’re minors, their guardians have agreed.
6. Photos should be high resolution/high quality in jpeg format. Generally, this means that images taken by a digital camera or converted to a digital format are between 3 megabytes (minimum) and 9 megabytes (maximum) at 300 dpi (dots per inch). This makes the image of sufficient resolution to print at 8 by 10 inch size without a loss of quality.
7. All photos must be submitted with a complete entry form. Forms are available on the chamber website (www.glenviewchamber.com) or the Chamber office.
8. All entries become the property of the Chamber Contest for up to two years (until June 1, 2016). Copies will not be returned.
9. The Contest reserves the right to crop and edit photos. The Contest will make every effort to provide photo credit information when the photo is used.
10. Contest entrants agree to all the rules and regulations set forth and by the decisions made by Chamber Contest.
11. The Chamber Contest is not responsible for any inaccurate or incorrect information and reserves the right to suspend or cancel the contest without notice.
